Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2025 Edition
The newest edition of Suntory’s now yearly release of the Hibiki Blossom Harmony was just released for 2025. I believe I have the first couple of bottles to hit the Australian shores. By now, you will know the drill with these releases - They are only released in Japan and via a ballot system so all stock that makes it to Australia, are grey imports.
This Hibiki blend is accented by long-aged grain malt whiskey that has been aged in "sakura barrels" made from cherry wood. It features a pure and gorgeous aroma like cherry blossoms and osmanthus. The clear, clean flavor has no sharp edges, and you can sense the soft sweetness of acacia honey and La France.
Suntory aimed to achieve the beautiful harmony that is characteristic of "Hibiki" while incorporating the unique characteristics of the sakura barrel malt whisky.
The decanter bottle has 24 facets that symbolize "time," and is wrapped in a label made of Echizen washi paper with vivid ink marks. The Packaging features a design inspired by the "Kyobitsugiki" technique of joining pieces of different vessels together with gold. The spirit of combining a variety of patterns to find new beauty resonates with "Hibiki," a beautiful harmony of the individuality of each component.
Tasting Notes:
Nose:
The fragrant scent of flowers, cherry blossoms, and osmanthus
Palate:
Smooth taste, smooth mouthfeel, elegant sweetness reminiscent of acacia honey, La France and sakura mochi.
Finish:
Long, rich and gorgeous aftertaste
700ml 43% Alcohol
