Linkwood 1978 44 Year Old G&M Private Collection
Another amazing bottling from Gordon & Macphail. This Linkwood whisky was distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2022 with only 310 bottles worldwide and virtually none making it to Australia (Except this one). It’s no doubt that we are huge fans of the G&M products and the private collection bottlings are the pinnacle of the G&M range, often achieving 90+ scores on Whiskbase (Not to mention the exquisite wooden case boxes which look stunning on a whisky shelf).
Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Fragrant cinnamon spice combines with vanilla fudge and morello cherry. Toasted hazelnuts come to the fore alongside baked apple and oak
Palate:
Rich stewed fruits complement salted lemons and berry compote. Sultanas and soft fruitcake undertones lead to grapefruit zest
Finish:
Medium-bodied finish with notes of polish and fruit forest
700ml 44.7% Alcohol
