A much sort after sold out bottling of a 34 Year old Mortlach, bottled by Adelphi. This bottle became a somewhat legendary Mortlach independent bottling with a 90+ Whiskybase rating.
This independent bottling was sourced from the Mortlach distillery where it was distilled in 1986. It was then placed in a single refill Bourbon cask and left to mature for 34 years before it was bottled at 54.2% abv in 2020. Outturn of only 224 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
Nose:
baked bananas, marzipan, mead, fruit salad sweeties, peach, apricot and linseed oil
Palate:
opens rich with honeycomb, walnut praline, hokey pokey ice cream and sea salt
Finish:
Savoury, herbaceous and extremely lengthy finish.
